The IAEA Awards Program is intended to recognize art educators who are committed and dedicated to their students and the art education profession. This program, which recognizes excellence in individuals and programs, helps provide for the development of quality art education throughout the state of Illinois.

  • To promote public awareness of the importance of quality art education.
  • To promote support of and to focus professional attention on quality programs and excellent art educators.
  • To recognize significant contributions to the profession and organization of IAEA

It is the intent of the IAEA to recognize outstanding scholastic and professional achievement in the Visual Arts and Art Education, and to encourage continued professional excellence in art education in our schools.

2012 Howlett Scholarship Form

*NEW in 2012* Carolyn and James Howlett Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for IAEA members certified to teach art in Illinois who are interested in professional development through the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Professional development could be through a School of the Art Institute of Chicago continuing education course, seminar, workshop or Ox-Bow session.
