SUMMARY:Webinar: Think Like An Artist: An Introduction to the 8 Habits of Mind
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \n0.5 Professional Hours Available    Pre-registration Required \nPresenter: Lea Heller \nArt education has the potential to teach a diverse set of skills that give students the ability to “see new patterns\, how to learn from mistakes\, and how to envision solutions” (Hetland\, Winner\, Veeneema\, Sheridan\, 2013). These are skills that students need in all aspects of their lives and can be taught in the art room. This presentation will focus on the 8 Habits of Mind\, why they (along with art) are important to every student’s education\, and how to make sure they are integrated into your lessons. \nLea Heller is an art educator in Southern Illinois\, teaching at the small rural district of Shawnee #84. She is in her 10th hear of teaching\, currently teaching 1st-12th grade art\, with classes that focus on general art\, AP Art\, painting\, drawing\, and heritage arts. She earned her BS of Art Education from Southern Illinois University and is about to complete her Masters of Art Education from Eastern Illinois University.
