I’ll showcase student examples\, quick technical demonstrations\, and provide resources to help you learn the basics of animating in the two software. \nLuke Jenner is a high school art & design teacher at JB Conant High School in Hoffman Estates\, IL\, specializing in teaching digital media including graphic design\, video\, animation\, 3D modeling\, game design\, and more. He holds a BS in Art Education from DePaul University and is currently an MFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Alongside showing artwork in urban contemporary galleries in Chicago\, he has spent time working with the Illinois High School Art Exhibition and building district-level cross-curricular classes to involve art and design in the STEM to STEAM conversation. Luke has previously presented at two IAEA conferences showcasing introductory lessons to transition students from still projects in Adobe Photoshop into animation work using Adobe After Effects.

DESCRIPTION:Please register here: https://capefamilylearning.eventbrite.com \nAs school districts around the country plan remote/online learning this Fall\, the home is now the site of learning and family members are taking on critical roles in education. This scenario creates enormous stresses and challenges for parents\, grandparents\, siblings and the students themselves\, but also offers opportunities for family engagement and learning. This dialogue will explore multiple perspectives on the intersection of art making and family learning\, and will include presentations from and conversation between Aram Atamian (Interdisciplinary artist)\, Mara Flores (Ecologist/Community Educator)\, Jessica Mueller (Interdisciplinary artist)\, Leticia Ramos (Teacher\, Chicago Public Schools)\, Ricarose Roque (Researcher/Assistant Professor\, University of Colorado\, Boulder)\, Geralyn Yu (Researcher/Assistant Professor\, University of  New Mexico). CAPE Assoc. Director of Education Joseph Spilberg will moderate.

DESCRIPTION:Calling All Artist-Educators! \nEach year IAEA celebrates its artist-educators in a special exhibition at the state conference. Even though the conference will be virtual this year\, all IAEA members will still have the opportunity to display their own artwork in the IAEA Virtual Membership Exhibition. \nAs in years past\, members can submit 1-3 pieces of art (completed within the past three years) that will be projected throughout the online conference platform and on the IAEA webpage.
