  • POSITION: Art Education Annually Contracted Faculty Position – Instructor, salary commensurate with experience. Position starting August 16, 2018. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach introductory through graduate level art education primary and secondary methods courses, and other teaching duties as assigned. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the annual regional Media & Methods Art Education Conference, serving as Art Education Student chapter co-sponsor, and conducting Jr. High Workshops. The Department of Art consists of 14 faculty members and 123 majors. The department is NASAD accredited and offers a BFA in Art with options in Graphic Design, Studio, & Art Education, BA in Art with options in Art History & Studio, as well as a MA in Art, MA in Art with option in Community Arts, and MA in Art with option in Art Education (online). Familiarity with using learning management systems for online classes and technology in the public school classroom is required. The candidate should have prior full-time teaching experience in the public schools for a minimum of three years. A demonstrated ability to teach using distance education strategies including online courses and blended learning. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required.
