The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is now accepting applications for their free Online Scholar Program.  The Online Scholar Program is a competitive, all-expense-paid fully online PD program for educators to learn how to teach Crystal Bridges’ online courses. The program invites accepted applicants to participate in an innovative four-week online teacher training course during the summer of 2017. Participants will explore the pedagogy in teaching from works of art, understand the instructional design behind the courses, and learn how to use the online tools that are a part of the courses.

Each weekly session consists of 3–5 hours of activities such as watching videos, participating in online discussions with other educators in the course, and planning how you will use the course content in your school or organization. Participants can work at their own pace each week (and even work ahead if necessary due to their summer schedule).

Once trained, accepted teachers will be licensed to access the course(s) at no charge within their school or community. The courses can be taught in fully online, blended, or face-to-face classroom settings. The courses are designed for high school students but can be used with older learners.

To apply, fill out the Crystal Bridges Online Scholar Program Application. Applications are due by April 25, 2017 and applicants will be notified by May 15, 2017.
