The 3rd Annual I AM student exhibition is opening this Friday.
Friday March 21st 6-10pm at the Artists’ Reception and Award Ceremony: At HumanThread Center/Gallery for Nonviolence, Arts & Education in conjunction with Bridgeport Art Center’s 3rd Friday Gallery Opening and Artists’ Open Studios. We had almost 170 submissions from 15 Chicago with only 50 pieces selected to be a part of the show. This event includes several other art openings. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you and your students to experience a professional art opening where they can meet and mingle with artists from all over Chicago.
http://bridgeportart.com, 1200 W. 35th Street, Chicago, IL 60609 (Enter on North Side off of Racine/34th). There is a parking lot next to the building. Exhibition will be on the 5th floor(there will be signage).
I’d like to personally invite you to an art opening where at least two of the four artists included are Chicago Public School Teachers.

Identity Interpreted and Assumed: Self-Portrait

An all-media juried exhibit exploring the nature of the self portrait whether through direct representation or expressive interpretation. This exhibit seeks to explore the psychological, as well as the physical self portrait.
