A note on membership from the IAEA
An obvious component of being involved in professional organizations is the opportunity to share ideas and network with peers, but what is often overlooked is the personal enrichment achieved by staying active outside of your day-to-day job culture and/or educational institution. As art educators working in a variety of different communities and contexts, being apart of a larger collective helps one to grow her/his practice in a nurturing environment of common interest. Furthermore, contributing to its organizational operations, publications, and conferences gives others a sense of your leadership, dedication to the field, and passion for what you do. In a sense, your participation acts as self-promotion while serving a larger community. In the case of IAEA, your membership and contribution serve more than the students you teach and the place where you work, thus outwardly demonstrating the kind of professional you are.
With that said, the IAEA is always seeking new members and passionate art educators who can get involved and serve the field of art education in the state of Illinois. Our conferences are held every Fall and our messages and publications reach a variety of constituencies across our great state.
Become an active member: Promote your experiences, actions, and ideas via our annual state conference, Twitter , Facebook, and Instagram accounts, and Mosaic newsletter. Feel free to link to us and spread our messages to others.
Thank you,
IAEA
