Presented by the Bridgeport Art Center and the Illinois Art Education Association
IAEA is excited to bring educators together with a common purpose through the 1st Annual Art Educator Show! We hope to encourage teachers to continue to be practicing artists and how to celebrate the talents of our areas art educators. So, we are thrilled to announce that on Friday, April 17th, 2015 the Bridgeport Art Center will play host to the 1st Annual Art Educator Show.Art educators from all across the Chicagoland area will have a unique opportunity to come together for this one-of-a-kind event…an exhibition that’s focused on celebrating the creative talents of art educators. Often, teaching can be an all consuming profession, leaving us with little time or no time to pursue our own creative aspirations. So, whether you’re actively making art or it’s been a few years, there’s no time like the present.
Starting this year, art educators will have an opportunity to exhibit artwork alongside their fellow art colleagues. The 1st Annual Art Educator Show will be a juried exhibition, featuring up to 100 works of art and more than a $1000 in cash prizes/awards. It’s my hope that NE Council members will make every effort to submit artwork to this exhibition, so art educators can show that those who teach, can also do.
The Opening Reception will coincide with the Bridgeport Art Centers 3rd Friday events from 7pm-10pm. It’s sure to be a great evening for all. Please invite your family, friends and colleagues. Most importantly, take this opportunity to see what your art counterparts are doing outside the classroom, socialize and explore the studios of the BAC resident artists.
